My less than $1 invention was using a paper towel as a coffee filter. My roomates and I have actually been doing this for weeks because we keep forgetting to buy coffee filters. It's very handy because most people always have a good supply of paper towels on hand because they can be bought in bulk for very cheap.

Very nice! Not being a coffee maker myself (I don't drink enough to own a coffeemaker), I imagine that buying filters are expensive. Nice work :)
